Player Academy Program (U6)
The LVR Player Academy is an 8-week skills-development program designed for boys and girls entering kindergarten (age 5 / Under 6). Since nearly all players are new to soccer, the focus will be on having fun, making new friends, learning about the game of soccer, and developing basic skills.
Each week during the Player Academy, we will focus on skill development (dribbling, passing, shooting, etc) using small-sided games and activities to keep everyone engaged. Players are divided randomly into training squads and will be working each week with the same kids and volunteer coach. Volunteers will be giving a curriculum to follow consisting of games and activities to help the kids learn the fundamentals of soccer. This program consists of 1 session per week (8 sessions total).
The program will introduce fundamental concepts in the first several weeks and then head into scrimmages the final 4 weeks. This is an entirely volunteer-run operation. We need parents to volunteer to work with the kids, so please let Alyssa Eckroth, volunteer program director, know if you are interested (

).
